Runners: Carolyn, Julie, and Jim
Weather: Upper 20's and Sunny
Comments: We ran the wildwood to the Zoo and back. Very crunchy, frozen trail with many icy sections. THERE IS ICE ON THE TRAIL!

Runners: Carolyn, Jessica, Brian, Russ and Jim
Weather: Low 40's and Cloudy (Perfect)
Comments: Went for the Deliverance Run. I am determined to turn the steeper walking sections into a normal running section. Probably will never get use to running by the house (and the bus and the teepee) without feeling like someone is aiming a shotgun at me. Brian and Jess - good to see you out on the trail!

Runners: Russ and Jim
Weather: 40 and Rainy
Comments: One of the worst weather days for running in a few years. Not as bad as the freezing rain fun a few years ago but pretty miserable. Frogg Toggs did the job. Good gear for crummy weather. We went a total of 7 miles. I predict that we will have many more misery runs this year. We might even get use to them.

Runners: Russ and Jim in Eugene and Stacy and Carolyn in Sherwood.
Weather: Upper 30's and Partly Cloudy
Comments: The best weather yet for EWEB Run To Stay Warm. The sun came out and I think I felt a little heat. Russ and I ran together for 8 miles and then I slowed down about 15 seconds per mile slower. We both ran well although Russ seems to hurting right about the Albany area. Had lunch with Corey. Yeah. Time to go find out I was 27/32 in my age group. It was a top three half marathon time for me. Ill take it. How was Sherwood?

Runners: Carolyn and Jim
Weather: Low 40's and Light Rain
Comments: We ran the Hill Billy run today. When we hit the Wildwood we went out for a mile and then turned around. Saw lots of runners today. There many good options for extending the loop to make it 12+. We ran 11 today and I will be a good kind of tired later in the day. Hope you are having fun at the beach Russ!

Runners: Carolyn, Russ and Jim
Weather: Mid 40's and Sunny
Comments: Nearly perfect running weather today. We did a new loop that went from the Hawthorne Bridge up to Council Crest. Then we took the Wildwood over to Washington Park. Back down through Downtown made a 12 mile loop. Mr 65-year-old blew past us on the bridge like we were running backwards and looked like was out for a walk. I'd like to introduce him to Russ' Doubting Admin Party Older Runner Hater guy.

Runners: Carolyn, Russ and Jim

Comments: The great trail conditions continue. Perfectly packed dirt with some rain to keep the dust down make for dangerously good trails. We need nice rainy sloppy condition. It's much safer (can't remember the last time anyone fell in the rain.)

Comments: We ran along Wildwood and then down into Washinton Park. We headed towards Marquam but took a shortcut up the hill and back over Vista bridge back into Washinton Park for a 7 mile run. Turns out we are all doing various workouts containing and X. P90X - X (something that hooks to the door) and X-training. Keep up the good work everybody. Training for Run to Stay Warm begins soon.

Weather: Upper 50's and Partly Cloudy
Comments: We went for a Jim's Adventure Run today. Went out past Pittock Mansion. over Cornell, on Jay's Trail and then ran along Cornell up to 53rd. We went up (and I mean up) 53rd for about a mile until we found a trail that led down to the Wildwood. Altogether we ran about 1:23 and went about 8 miles. I like the fact that we could loop with the Wildwood out past Pittock. I thought I heard a banjo playing at one point...

Runners: Carolyn, Jessica, Russ, Danny, Elijah and Jim.
Weather: 60's and Sunny
Comments: We ran the Wildwood with the shortcut on the way back for an 8 mile run. Jessica took a tumble and came up with a bloody knee so her and Carolyn ran 5 and then hiked up to Pittock. The youngster fired up the old guys and we ran the route in 1:30 instead of the usual 1:36. Good job young guys and old guys.

Weather: 50's and Cloudy
Comments: Russ and I had a breakdown in communication. He thought when I said I would meet at 6:30 that meant I would be there at 6:30. What it really meant was I would wake up at 6:30. Sorry Russ! I knew I would find you on the trail. We both ended up with 5 mile runs.

Runners: Russ and Jim (and Carolyn and Stacey in Sherwood.)
Weather: 60 and Partly Cloudy
Comments: We ran up Broadway today and set a record of 25:45. I think the previous best was 26:30 but usually we are in the 27's or 28's. We were going to the top and around but decided to reward the tough climb with a shortcut down the hill for a total of 5 miles. To close the deal I am supposed to run tomorrow...

Comments: We ran up to Pittock, down to MaCleay Park and back over to Burnside. We went up through Washington Park and then back on the Wildwood trail for a totol of about 8 miles. Heads up Russ - mandatory drug testing next week. Now you know what Lance must feel like - all those accusations just because he is fast.

Weather: Sunny and upper 50's lower 60's
Comments: We ran the Helvatia Half Marathon today. I did not follow Russ' lead and left home after 6:30. I was sitting the HWY 26 from 7:00 to 7:30. The worst part was getting diverted to park over a mile away. By 7:45 I had a pre-mile to run and needed to find Carolyn to get my number. That didn't work out so well so I took off as the last runner to start the race 15 minutes after the gun. I felt great and on pace (and really fast passing all the walkers) until mile 10. The heat and lack of road running got me again and I slowed down to keep from cramping up. Still finished under 2 hours but no PR today. All the cross training has paid off. Time to add some running.

Comments: We ran the Wildwood Trail to Council Crest using the shortcut on the return. Very fun to have Jessica run with us today. There is one less slug and a very startled snake out there now. The wildlife is very sensitive. Seriously, good job Jess!

Comments: Sorry. Just kidding. Parked at Washington Park and ran up to Wildwood. Went to Pittock Mansion and then out past Cornell and out MacCleay park to Thurman. We took 25th back toward Burnside. Took Cumberland backed up to Pittock again and down Buena Vista (aptly named) and back down to Burnside for a 2:15 minutes 11 miles run.

Our next run will be tomorrow morning at 7:30. We are going to park at Washington Parl. The description is below. It turns out you cannot turn left of Vista so you have to turn somewhere else to get to the entrance to Washington Park.
Take a left on vista off Burnside (the light before Peet's.) Take a right on Park Place into Washington Park. You have to take a right into the park. Park in the closest available place and we will start from there.

Runners: Carolyn and Jim
Weather: Low 40's and Cloudy
Comments: We parked at the entrance to Washington Park. We started by going up the road towards the Zoo. We took the Wildwood trail for awhile and then followed some trails down towards the Zoo. Then we went up Marquam, took a left of Broadway (or what Broadway turns into) and then took a left on Vista. We followed Vista to Burnside and took a left. We went up Burnside to the first road and took a right. Heading up the hill we asked someone how to get to Pittock and he directed us straight up the hill. We knew it was steep when we caught up with a guy walking his bike. After reaching Pittock Mansion we went down Wildwood, took a right on Cumberland trail and down Cumberland Rd. Downhill never felt so tiring. UP 45 minutes, down 15 minutes, up 30 minutes, down for another 23 minutes. This 9 mile run felt like 12.

Runners: Carolyn, Stacey, Russ and Jim
Weather: 50 and Sunny
Comments: We ran from Hawthorne to Council Crest, down Broadway to the Marquam trail and back for 8.5 miles. There is a new sign at the Marquam Shelter that shows 1.9 miles to Council Crest with an elevation gain of 780 feet. We run up from the rive to get to the shelter. It has taken a few year but I think we have made climbing hills seem normal (for us.)

Weather: Upper 30's and sunny
Comments: We took Russ and Stacey on the new Cumberland trail loop. Somehow it seems like we run uphill about an hour and downhill for 10 minutes. Next week we may park at the bottom of Washington Park and run toward the zoo first to expand this course a bit.

Runners: Carolyn and Jim
Weather: Upper 30's Rain / Snow
Comments: We ran on Wildwood and then down through Washington Park. We found a service road that dropped out at 25th and Burnside (ride next to Peet's.) Then we crossed Burnside and headed towards Forest Park. We ran up Cumberland road until it dead ended into Forest Park. The Cumberland trail took us to the Wildwwood trail and ended up at Pittock Mansion. This a very hilly 6 mile run with many options to make it longer. Yeah for new routes! Russ - If you are back Wednesday let's run Mt Tabor.
