Comments: I left about 6:20 AM and bike past my school and RRMS and then out Holgate to the South side of Powell Butte. I turned around at the entrance. It took about 30 minutes to get to the turn around and then 20 minutes back to my school.

Comments: I am beginning a running / biking consecutive record today. I will still post Saturday runs but also include all other workouts until I end my series. I am starting at 194 lbs and attempting to workout (running or biking) until my weight is down to 178.

Comments: Finally out on the trail again. Took a tumble and a few near misses today. It seems to happen every year when the trail dries out. Good times:

Comments: Carolyn ran a couple of miles with us and then took off downtown at a blistering pace. The wise old men run up Marquam trail over to Terwilliger and back for a nice 8.3 mile run. Carolyn got 9.5 miles and finished at the nearly the same time. Pine State Biscuits was delicious!

Comments: Went on a 9 miles 2,000 ft elevation gain adventure run through the rain and mud. We started on 53rd and went out Wildwood to Firelane 3. Took FL 3 to Skyline, back to Thompson to 53rd and back.

Comments: Really nice loop today up towards Council Crest and over to the trail and down to Terwilliger. It seems our long winter is starting to lose its grip.

Comments; We parked at 53rd and ran out and back. The image below only shows half because TomTom was acting up. So we ran about 8. Good to be on the trails.

Comments: Nice run up to Council Crest with the dogs. 7.2 miles and at a nice easy pace.

Comments: We got caught in heavy rain today but after we warmed up so not too bad. We went up Terwilliger all the way to Barbur Blvd for a 10 miler today. Good practice for Shamrock Run next week.

Comments: Every once in awhile we don't run on trails. We did 8 1/2 miles by going up Terwilliger to Capitol Highway and then turned around. Very similar to the Shamrock Run.

Comments: We tried to run up from MacLeay Parking lot today be there is a trail closure. So we went on the road up to Lief Erikson Trial entrance and then Wild Cherry trail up to Wildwood. This turned out to be a nice out and back we may do in the future. We end up further out on the nicer (flatter and less crowded) section of the Wildwood.

Comments: Ran up Broadway for the first time in a year. Still really steep but we got up in 28:00 without too much trouble. Not bad. Then we went down towards the Zoo and down through Washington Park. Good loop.

Comments: We parked at the middle pull out on 53rd. That is one of my favorite places to start. We ran 8 relatively level miles under nearly perfect conditions.

Comments: We ran from Burnside towards Council Crest. Didn't quite make it but we'll get there.

Comments: Finally a standard trail run. We'll start at 7 miles and go up from there. Haven't run Pittock in a while.

Comments: First 'normal' run in weeks. We ran up Marquam trail part way. A small creek is running down the trail and many branches and trees are down. We also saw a small landslide.

Comments: For the first time in 15 years of running in Portland our run was converted into a snowshoe adventure. 18 inches of snow on the Wildwood and that is what happens. Made a nice double loop up to Pittock and over to the Zoo.

Comments: We tried to go up Marquam Trail but ran into ice so we headed up Terwilliger for our own 10K. We were going to do a 10K in Forest Grove but snow is on the way.

Comments: I ran from home today, past the athletic club on Stark St and back home. Not a bad out and back.

Comments: Finley and Brody did a great job today running over 8 miles. Finley can be a bit pesky so we'll give Brody a pass for putting her in her place a few time. They'll figure it out. Good run!

Comments: Some of the worst traffic ever to get to a run. We had to regroup and meet at Marquam Shelter. We ran a good loop using trails and then up and over Council Crest for about 6 miles. Finley is learning a new command. "Trail" means run behind me on single track.

Comments: Last week I debuted new shoes. This week I have a new running partner. Finally Finely gets out on the trail. She did a great job on a sloppy day. I let her off leash further out and she was able to check in with me and come back when called.

Comments: Welcome back Russ. We ran shorter today and made a nice loop by going down to the Leif Erickson trail and back the MaCleay park. After last week's long run I knew it was time for new shoes. Today was the debut of Merrell Trail Glove 3. Best shoe ever!

Comments: Two weeks before the Run to Stay Warm so we did our longest run in a year (for me not Carolyn.) 11.5 miles on the trail is a good run.

Comments: This was going to be Finley's big debut. A mistake on Google maps put Ruth and the address I told her but it wasn't where we needed to meet. Soon the dog will be on the trail!

Comments: We parked on 53 and went out for one hour today. Because of the creek canyons in was just as hilly as closer in. Good run.

Comments: We did a nice 6.5 miles loop that included trail and road. I also found a nifty way to get on the 405 while trying avoid the Rose Parade blockades. I took Vista to Montgomery and and it dropped out right at an exit onto 405. It might just be my new way home.
