Runners: Carolyn and Jim

Weather: Low 50's and misty

Comments: We ran from the Hawthorne Bridge to Terwilliger going nearly to Barbur (about 5 miles) and back. On the way back we took a detour down to track and Dunaway. We clocked one lap to find our pace 1.5 hours into the run. I ran a bit fast at 8:10 and Carolyn ran a more reasonable (for 1/2 marathon) pace of 8:20. We should be able to manage 8:23 for Helvetia. On the way back through downtown we had an encounter with a homeless guy that was startling. Lots of yelling and screaming. Then there was Coopers. Was it my discomfort with his revealing spandex that made that man sit so close to me? Deep Thoughts.

Russ, We missed your heavy breathing. I should clarify, Jim missed it.

Oh and by the way Russ, watch the trees, they're hanging awfully low.

Dang!! I miss all the interesting runs. Not quite sure about Jim's comments about the guy in spandex and Carolyn's comment about Jim missing my heavy breathing. Is Jim considering a lifestyle change? Seems like either way, Coopers in now off the list.

Ran Terwilliger from Dunaway to Barbur and back. Went early so there was a lot of tree debris on the trail from yesterday's storm. 8:30 still sounds fast to me for the 1/2 marathon
