Runners: Carolyn, Russ, Jim and 5,000 others
Weather: Sunny and upper 50's lower 60's
Comments: We ran the Helvatia Half Marathon today. I did not follow Russ' lead and left home after 6:30. I was sitting the HWY 26 from 7:00 to 7:30. The worst part was getting diverted to park over a mile away. By 7:45 I had a pre-mile to run and needed to find Carolyn to get my number. That didn't work out so well so I took off as the last runner to start the race 15 minutes after the gun. I felt great and on pace (and really fast passing all the walkers) until mile 10. The heat and lack of road running got me again and I slowed down to keep from cramping up. Still finished under 2 hours but no PR today. All the cross training has paid off. Time to add some running.

You must have been in the stadium when I left but I did not see either of you at the finish. Not sure what my time was but it was not great. Started off too fast (7:55 for the first mile) and was tired and sore by mile 9, even walked a few small stretches because my legs were so sore. I suspect I was somewhere around 1:55. Wish we could have met up before the race. It would have made it more fun. TIME TO GET SOME NEW SHOES TOO!
I saw you russ. Coming back from the out and back. Around mile 7. I had no idea how I did since I didn't really look at my watch , I was looking for Jim. Anyway thought I had better time than I did. 203. I thought I got in under 2
. Oh well had a few groups of walkers that's slowed me down and I guess that was good cause I felt good at the end and still do.
Oh by the way, I think it's interesting that I know 3 of the top ten masters. John Clifford, our forever friend tim knox, and I also know Dave waterman. He's a pastor at my church .
what is the site for the results?
